Preliminary Selection Judging - A committee will select the top three entries from each parish (Iberville, Pointe Coupee, and West Baton Rouge). The preliminary winners will advance to the final selection and will be notified by mail and telephone.

Final Selection Judging – Three finalists from each parish will attend a reception (April 18, 2023) at PC Electric (2506 False River Drive New Roads). At the reception, the letter (essay) will be judged by a panel of three judges on the written assignment (50%), a personal interview with the student (30%), and an oral presentation of the letter (20%).

If the reception cannot be held to determine a winner (COVID-19 Restrictions or a weather related event), each essay will be judged solely on the written assignment.

Three winners, one from each parish, will receive a 1,500 scholarship to their chosen university or trade school. Recipients will be presented with a framed certificate at the reception. News releases and pictures of the winners and PC Electric personnel will be sent to the three local papers in our service areas: the Pointe Coupee Banner, Post South, West Side Journal, and the PC Connections Publication.

Handling Of Scholarship Money:

The recipients of these scholarships should first pay the tuition to the college, university, trade school or business school selected by the student.
