SWPA partnership
Pointe
Coupee Electric also receives power from the Southwestern
Power Administration, www.swpa.gov. As a
cooperative PCE is entitled to a
share of the hydro power produced by the SWPA.
This power is delivered to the PCE service through
an arrangement with LaGen and SWPA.

Cajun II recognized for contributions to the NRG Cares Fund
In
the special edition of NRG World Update, Cajun II was
recognized for their exceptional giving for the
September 11th NRG Cares fund.
Not only were there a significantly higher
percentage of individuals who contributed, but also
there was the Employee's Wishing Well and the United
Steel Workers that worked as groups for the cause. If you would like to read more and did not receive your copy

Development, Diamond Plastics and PC Electric
Pointe
Coupee Electric has signed a 10-year all-requirements
contract with Diamond Plastics Corporation, a new $7
million PVC pipe manufacturer locating in the new
100-acre industrial park in Plaquemine.
Diamond Plastics, headquartered in Grand Island,
Nebraska, is a 2MW high load factor customer that will
start with 50 employees.
Pointe Coupee also secured an agreement to supply
other industries that locate in the industrial park.
The park is in the heart of the Iberville Parish
industrial corridor traditionally served by Entergy.
Diamond
Plastics was first contacted in July 2000, after LaGen
and Pointe Coupee jointly decided to pursue the company
as part of an economic development strategy.
LaGen staff supported Pointe Coupee Electric in
the creation of a new industrial incentive rate based on
the LaGen High Load Factor Customer Incentive Rate, to
successfully compete against Entergy for the new
contract.
