informative program that provides brochures to assist our members
in reducing costs through the use of energy efficient products
and practices. Pointe Coupee Electric in cooperation with ALEC
and the Cooperative Extension Service at LSU have partnered
to produce an on-line version of the LOE Home Energy Guide.

Energy Audits
A
service provided to Co-op members to aid customers in using electricity
more efficiently.

Pumps
If
you are building or need to replace your current air conditioning/heating
unit, call the Co-op's Member Service representatives for information.

Economic
Development
PCEMC
actively works with federal, state and local governing agencies,
chambers of commerce, tourist commisssions and other development
organizations to promote economic and industrial development.

PCEMC
will award scholarships to three graduating high school students
each year. Certain criteria and restrictions apply. |
Education
As
a community service we promote education through assistance to
schools and other local organizations. We participate in the Adopt-A-School
Program, 4-H Club, LSU Short Course, Livestock Programs, Girls
and Boys State, Cooperative Youth Camp, Junior Achievement and
other programs.

The
Gift of Learning
A
program designed for parents to help their children succeed in
school and in life, which is available to groups or individuals
free of charge.

Math
and Science Award Program
Awards
will be presented to students who have the highest combined grade
in math and science on elementary, junior high and high school
levels in each of our adopted schools. |
Home/Plus
Home building guides and videos to provide
residents with a simple, easy-to-understand description of reliable
energy efficient construction and remodeling. |
Each
year PCEMC sponsors students who have competed in a writing contest
to attend an all-expense paid trip to our nation's capital and
a leadership conference in Baton Rouge. This program has been
successful in promoting excellence in youth development and in
creating an awareness of the important role our electric cooperatives
play.
