Recently, Pointe Coupee Electric Membership Corporation (PCEMC) launched its new letterhead -- the first
redesign of PCEMC's letterhead in over 30 years. It incorporates key design elements that leverage Pointe
Coupee Electric's rich heritage and communicates a "new and improved" letterhead.
The newly designed letterhead features PCEMC's logo with Willie Wire Hand connecting the state of Louisiana
to a bolt of electricity. The letterhead also features the slogan, "Connecting People…Impacting Lives!"
Pointe Coupee Electric adopted its logo in the1970s and its slogan in 2000. The logo and slogan have been
used in all advertisements, brochures, and many give-a-way items; however it has never been used in the
company letterhead until now.
According to Business Branding Success, "A company's logo should appear in as many places as possible
including letterhead, website, pens and notepads. The image a company projects should be professional and
memorable. Another important feature in business branding is the slogan. A slogan identifies the value and
mission statement of the company. The slogan should be short and memorable while conveying a message to the
public."
Pointe Coupee Electric has used these principals in the development of the new letterhead. General Manger,
Joseph H. "Jodie" Cotten, Jr. states, "The image our cooperative projects is very important as is the quality
of service we provide to our members. PCEMC is committed to providing quality service to its members while
bringing the cooperative forward into the 21st century."
