Pointe Coupee Electric Membership Corporation (PCEMC) recently received safety
re-accreditation from the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association
(NRECA) for its safety and loss control practices.
The safety re-accreditation was presented to PCEMC General Manager Jodie
Cotten, Jr. at the Dec. 3 board meeting of the Association of Louisiana
Electric Cooperatives, Inc. (ALEC) in Baton Rouge. ALEC is the statewide
service organization serving ten of Louisiana's electric cooperatives.
Mike Bergeaux, Director of Loss Control for ALEC (shown at right), made the
presentation and said that PCEMC had earned the distinction because of the high
priority it places on reducing injuries, illness and property damage. Accepting
the award on behalf of the PCEMC board, management and employees was General
Manager Jodie Cotten, Jr.
"Our safety program has paid off because our employees are caring and look out
for each other and for our consumers," Cotten stated. "Working safely takes a
team effort by dedicated personnel. Our employees deserve all the credit for
the success of PCEMC's safety program which promotes an accident free workplace
and the safety of the public."
PCEMC has been recognized in the past for having the fewest accidents for the
number of man-hours worked of all the electric cooperatives in the state and
has won the Statewide Cooperative Safety Trophy for its outstanding
performance.
PCEMC serves portions of Pointe Coupee, West Baton Rouge and Iberville parishes
