Pointe Coupee Electric 68th Annual Membership Scheduled for Wednesday, January 30

The 69th Annual Membership Meeting of Pointe Coupee Electric Membership Corporation is scheduled for Wednesday, January 30 at 12 o'clock noon at the Scott Civic Center on Major Parkway in New Roads.

Doors will open at 9:00 a.m. for free health screening, informational exhibits and demonstrations.

The business meeting will begin promptly at noon.  Members are reminded to bring their registration cards included with the notification of the meeting.  The business meeting will consist of reports of officers, directors and committees; announcement of members elected to serve on the board; and any other business that may properly come before the membership.  

Drawings will be held to select the winners of the continuing education scholarships being offered by PCEMC to high school seniors, and endowments will be presented to the 4-H programs of Iberville, Pointe Coupee and West Baton Rouge parishes.  

Members of Pointe Coupee Electric will have the opportunity to meet their directors and staff of their electric cooperative, Public Service Commissioners, Youth Tour winners and fellow co-op members.

Before the meeting members and their guests will have the pleasure of listening to music by D.J. Mitch Langlois.

Refreshments will be served and over 60 lucky members in attendance will take home door prizes. Only Pointe Coupee Electric members are eligible to win door prizes.

There will be exhibits and free health screenings from 9:00 am to 11:30 am. The exhibits will showcase services and programs provided by Pointe Coupee Electric such as the Lower Operating Expense program for energy efficiency in new or existing homes and mobile homes.  The Louisiana Cooperative Extension Services, the Association of Louisiana Electric Cooperatives (ALEC), American Cancer Society, New Beginnings, Battered Women's Program, Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), Pointe Coupee Council on Aging and LTC-Jumonville Memorial Campus will also have exhibits.

Pointe Coupee Homebound Health Services, the Pointe Coupee General Hospital and Better Access Community Health (BACH)will also be on site to conduct various free health screenings and provide health related information for PCEMC members and their guests. Acadian Ambulance will offer standby services. Anyone needing special assistance should contact the office at 225/638-3751 prior to the meeting.
