High Water Warning!

River expected to reach 32 feet on December 17.  Members are subject to disconnect without further notice.

Pointe Coupee Electric would like to inform our members who are customers at Old River that when the flood stage at Baton Rouge reaches 30 feet all customers behind the levee will be subject to disconnect without any further notice.  This is due to safety concerns caused by the rising water.  As in the past all power across the levee will be disconnected when the flood stage reaches 35 feet at Baton Rouge.

When the water recedes in all areas that have been affected by high water, Pointe Coupee Electric crews will first inspect all lines for any safety issues.  When it is deemed safe, then the primary lines will be energized.  Once a customer decides to have their electric service restored, they should have their facilities checked by a certified electrician for any damages. Then once everything is deemed safe, all breakers must be turned off and your name must be permanently written on your meter base. After this is done, call the dispatcher at 225-638-3751 and let us know you are ready. Our field personnel will not connect any facilities without having a field order and without having all of the above criteria met.

WARNING!
There is always a possibility of back feed from personal generators; therefore you should treat all power lines as energized even if you do not have power.  Stay away and do not touch any power lines.
