Energy Transfer (ETT) and Pointe Coupee Electric (PCEMC) teamed up to provide "optimum" compression at the Morganza Gas Gathering System for EPCO Production. The unique gas compressor runs off either an electric motor or natural gas engine. This allows ETT to run the compressor on the electric motor during off peak times and helps fill the valleys for PCEMC. Whenever peaking conditions of the cooperative are getting close, ETT will switch the compressor to gas and save setting an annual peak-ratchet which translates into tremendous savings for ETT.
