Jimmy Ewing, Jr., president of Pointe Coupee Electric Membership Corporation
in New Roads, Louisiana, has joined the board of directors of the National
Rural Utilities Cooperative Finance Corporation (CFC) following its annual
meeting last week in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mr. Ewing was elected from District 8
to serve a three-year term on the CFC board.
CFC is a not-for-profit finance cooperative that serves the nation's rural
utility systems, the majority of which are electric cooperatives and their
subsidiaries. With approximately $20 billion in assets, CFC provides its
member-owners with an assured source of low-cost capital and state-of-the-art
financial products and services.
Mr. Ewing is a former board member of Cajun Electric Power Cooperative and
secretary-treasurer of the Association of Louisiana Electric Cooperatives.
Mr. Ewing is a board member of the Louisiana Landowners Association and a
member of the Pointe Coupee Parish Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Ewing and his wife, Donna, own and operate a restaurant in New Roads. He is
also the farm manager for a large sugarcane farm. He was formerly a convenience store
owner and operator and a national account manager for a National Microfilm Manufacturing
Company.
