Employee Spotlight - December 2004 Joanie Bishop Each month PCEMC highlights one of its valued employees. PCEMC understands the importance of its member owners getting to know the people who are instrumental in providing them with quality electric services.

This month PCEMC would like to introduce Joanie Bishop to its member owners. PCEMC is very fortunate to have Joanie as part of their Member Services Department. Joanie started working as a Member Services Representative in October of 1999. She was later promoted to the Director of Member Services, Marketing and Communications in March 2002. (Acct. No. 2077700) Her position encompasses a wide variety of job duties and responsibilities, including supervising the Member Services Department. Joanie handles advertising and public relations for PCEMC and supervises all programs, projects and meetings that are coordinated through the department, including the planning and implementation of the cooperative’s annual membership meeting, open air market and the numerous educational programs implemented within the local schools.
Joanie also assists with electrical safety presentations and conducts energy efficiency presentations within the local schools and communities. She actively participates in community and civic activities, using every opportunity to promote support for the cooperative’s objectives, plans and programs. Joanie enjoys working with the PCEMC members. She also enjoys the opportunity to meet and work with a wide number of people throughout the cooperative’s tri-parish service area as well as on a state and national level.
Joanie is a member of the Cooperative Communicators Association (CCA) and the Louisiana Member Services Association. She serves on the board of directors for the Pointe Coupee and West Baton Rouge Parish Chambers of Commerce. Joanie also serves on numerous other committees including the organizational & community development, education and economic development committees for Pointe Coupee, West Baton Rouge and Iberville Parish Chambers of Commerce.
Joanie is a native of Morganza and Pointe Coupee Parish. She and her husband, Pat, presently reside in Oscar with their 15-year-old son, Bryant, and 12-year-old daughter, Taylor. They are members of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lakeland.
