Employee of the Month - January Shadana Lewis Each month PCEMC highlights one of our valued employees. PCEMC understands the importance of its member-owners getting to know the people who are instrumental in providing them with quality electric service.

This month PCEMC would like to introduce Shadana Lewis to its member-owners. PCEMC is very fortunate to have Shadana as part of its Operations Department. Shadana joined the PCEMC team in September of 2001. She presently holds the position of Shift Dispatcher and is responsible for receiving and handling trouble and emergency calls for the company.
Shadana says she enjoys the opportunity to meet new people and in particular members of PCEMC. She also takes advantage of the opportunity to learn new things through her position at the company.
Shadana was born in New Roads and lived in the community until she was about 8 years old. She then moved to Baton Rouge but has lived in New Roads off and on for the past 12 years. Shadana presently lives in Baton Rouge, but still has family living in New Roads. She has three sisters and one brother.
Shadana is presently expecting her first child in March of 2003. She is very excited about the new addition to her family. When not working, Shadana enjoys writing poetry and visiting with her friends.
Shadana says her favorite food is seafood, prepared in a variety of ways. Her favorite sports are baseball and softball. She enjoys watching movies and says her favorite movie is "Friday." Shadana enjoys listening to R & B music and especially her favorite singer, Mary J. Blige. Her favorite group is Dru Hill.
Shadana's greatest childhood memories revolve around growing up in a very wonderful, funny and exciting family. Shadana says that her family always made the best of whatever situation they were in. She notes that her biggest heroes are her mom and her grandmother.
Shadana says her mom has always encouraged her to be a positive person and to never give up. Her grandmother, who is now deceased, was also a positive influence in Shadana's life. Shadana says that her grandmother taught her to believe in herself and to always work hard. She taught Shadana that through hard work, a person could achieve anything.
Shadana's favorite vacation was a trip to Los Angeles, California to visit her grandfather when she was just a young child. Shadana hopes to one day visit Jamaica and the Caribbean Islands. She expressed a great interest in experiencing the different cultures and languages of the islands.
