Marilyn Wire has been serving the Co-op for 22 years. Marilyn was hired on with the Co-op as a Material & Work Order Clerk in November, 1981, and moved into a cashier position in 1983.

After many years of hard work and dedication, Marilyn was promoted to accountant in 1998. She enjoys the many challenges her position brings to her from day-to-day. A typical day for Marilyn includes formulating monthly financial statements, documenting and reporting for RUS work orders, and cost accounting and reconciliation of capital assets. Marilyn is a member of Louisiana Accountants and Administrators Association.

Marilyn is a native of Ventress and now resides in Livonia. She is married to Irving Wire. She has three children: Lynetta, 22; Alisha, 18, and Jonathan, 11. Marilyn also has one stepdaughter, 22-year-old Franchetti. She has one handsome grandson, Ja Quan, who is a year old. Marilyn spends a lot of her spare time cooking and listening to her favorite gospel music. She is well known at the co-op for her famous pralines. She loves to sing and is a choir member at St. Luke Baptist Church. Marilyn's favorite food is mustard greens and chicken. Her favorite restaurant is Mike Anderson's, and her favorite sports would be baseball and basketball. Marliyn says her biggest hero, without a doubt, is her mother.

When asked about her favorite vacation, Marilyn remembers a trip to Florida and how she enjoyed the sand and water. If she could visit any place in the world, money being no object, Marilyn says it would have to be Hawaii. "It seems to be the most beautiful place in the world," Marilyn says.
